MVC Entrapment - Mt. Pisgah Church Rd.

On July 3, 2013 at 7:05 PM Pageland and Jefferson Rescue Squads responded with First Health EMS, and Sandhills Fire Department to a vehicle crash on Mt. Pisgah Church Rd. near Jefferson SC. Responders arrived to find a 4 door car resting on its passenger side leaning against a tree. One person was lying on the ground next to the car and another was trapped in the passenger’s seat. Jefferson Rescue and Sandhill firefighters provided patient care, stabilized the car and removed the windshield while Pageland Rescue used the “Jaws of Life” to remove the roof of the car. Responders were then able to remove the passenger from the car and prepare him for transport. Both patients were treated on scene by First Health EMS paramedics and transported to the helipad at CMC-Union in Monroe, where they were loaded onto awaiting helicopters and flown to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. A third person from the car was reported to have fled the scene. The crash is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway patrol.
